Import Video Files as Clips

Import Video Files as Clips

Learn how to import short video files directly into your playlists and when to use clips instead of full matches for smoother workflows.

Sometimes you don’t need a full match—just a few short clips. In this video, you’ll learn how to import multiple short video files into PlayBase and organize them into playlists.

This is especially useful for training sessions, highlight reels, or scouting reports made from pre-cut footage.

Why Use Clips?

Working with short clips can help when:

  • You’ve already cut the key moments using external tools

  • You want to build a presentation without re-watching full matches

  • You’re working with video highlights or training footage

It also improves performance—PlayBase is optimized for short, focused video segments.

How to Import Clips

  1. Open your Workspace

  2. Go to the Playlists module

  3. Click Add video file as clip

  4. Select multiple short video files from your computer

  5. Click Open — the clips will import directly into your current playlist

Once imported, you can trim, tag, or add visualizations as needed.

Best Practices

  • Keep clips under 2 minutes when possible

  • Use meaningful file names so they’re easy to identify in the playlist

  • Avoid importing full matches this way—use the Video Project workflow for full games instead

Pro Tip

You can mix clips from different matches or sources into a single playlist. This is ideal when preparing custom presentations for players or staff.
