Getting Started
Display extra information like clip titles, event descriptions, and match data during your presentation using overlays.
During your presentations, it’s often useful to show additional context—like the clip title, current score, or tactical label. That’s where the Overlays Panel comes in.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to use overlays to display structured information on top of your clips during Presentation Mode.
What Are Overlays?
Overlays are customizable info bubbles that appear on screen during playback. They automatically pull data from your clips and display it visually to support your presentation.
You can choose what info to show, how long it stays visible, and whether it appears across all clips or just one.
What Can You Display?
Clip number and title
Event description
Current score or match time
Tags or player names
Any combination of metadata from your project
This helps orient your audience and reinforce your talking points.
How to Use the Overlays Panel
Enter Presentation Mode
Click the overlay icon in the top-right corner
A list of available overlays will appear
Select the info you want to display
Choose Always Active if you want overlays to stay visible the entire time
You can toggle overlays on or off for each clip, and preview changes in real time.
Best Practices
Use overlays to enhance—not distract from—your analysis
Keep text short and relevant
Disable overlays if you want a clean visual during a moment of focus
Combine with Touch Mode to interact with video while overlays are active
👉 That’s it! You’ve now completed the full PlayBase tutorial series. You’re ready to tag, analyze, visualize, present and share your insights with confidence.
