Getting Started
Learn how to quickly tag key moments in your match using two simple tools inside PlayBase: the R and S buttons.
Once your video project is open, you’re ready to start tagging key moments. In this video, you’ll learn how to use Quick Tagging to save clips from the timeline efficiently using two main tools: the R and S buttons.
Why Quick Tagging?
Quick Tagging is designed for analysts and coaches who want to move fast. It’s especially useful during live matches or when you’re reviewing video and want to save key plays on the fly.
Two Ways to Tag Clips
1. Record with R
Click the R button (or press the R key) to start recording a clip.
Press it again to stop and save the clip into the currently selected playlist.
The timeline will show the active recording bar while it’s live.
2. Snapshot with S
Click the S button to instantly save a clip from the current moment.
It will save a fixed duration (e.g. 15 seconds before, 10 seconds after) into the active playlist.
You can adjust the duration in the settings found below the timeline and to the right.
Organizing Your Clips
Before you begin tagging, create a folder and playlist in the Playlists module:
Use one playlist per category: e.g. build-up, set pieces, pressing
Make sure the correct playlist is selected before saving clips
PlayBase will automatically save each tagged clip to the playlist you’ve selected.
Pro Tips
Use the timeline to rewind or fast-forward during tagging.
Rename and reorder clips in the playlist once you’re done tagging.
Start with broad tagging, and refine later using the Code Table (covered next).
