Saving Types

Overview

Saving Types define how Metrica Nexus records and saves tagged moments. Choosing the right saving type depends on whether you’re analyzing live or working with pre-recorded video.

Recording mode

In Recording mode, the shortcut acts as a start/stop toggle. Press the key to start recording a code, then press again to stop. This gives you precise control over the start and end of each event, making it ideal for live games or detailed reviews.

Instant Save mode

In Instant Save mode, pressing the shortcut saves a clip of a predefined duration—based on seconds before and after you press the key. This is useful for quick tagging when exact timing is less critical or when reviewing pre-recorded games at speed.

Best practices

• Use Recording for high-precision work.

• Use Instant Save to quickly build out a timeline of recurring actions.

Next Step

With your saving types defined, the next step is to add Tags that bring context and detail to your codes.
