Tracking
Manually define field reference points for accurate tracking when automatic detection needs help.
Manual Field Tracking
Overview
Manual Field Tracking allows you to define the pitch by selecting reference points yourself. This method is ideal when automatic detection fails or when working with custom field layouts.
How to do it
Choose at least 4 reference points on the field—typically corners, penalty spots, or center points. Then press Process to calibrate the pitch.
To check accuracy, press I to toggle Field Tracking Hints. This overlay shows how well the field is aligned.
When to use manual
• The pitch lines are faint or partially obstructed.
• You’re working with unusual camera angles.
• You’re calibrating for non-football sports with different field layouts.
Tip
Once tracking is processed, always review a few key frames to ensure the visuals sit correctly on the pitch.
Next Step
Now that both players and the field can be tracked, let’s move on to Full Clip Tracking to bring everything together.
